It has been quiet around here lately. Here is what has been going on.
It has been very quiet here lately.
I just released a fairly large project that was the culmination of three months of work. There were services that needed to be turned down, data that needed to be migrated, transactions that needed to be cleared, services that needed to be turned on. It was fun. It was a very complex project, but I have a great team so everything went very smoothly.
Next, as usual I tend to fall down rabbit holes trying to learn new things. I spent a bit of time porting Jasper to FW/1. It was a good learning experience figuring out how to load all the java libraries I needed to render markdown and parse YAML the "hard way."
That occupied me for a bit, but then I decided to look into how frameworks operate, specifically ColdFusion frameworks. I made a little headway with my own little framework I called Sparrow. I was able to get the basics down, but getting routing right proved to be elusive. I thought it would be better to shelve this and focus on something else.
Now I am looking into AWS serverless computing, specifically AWS Lamdba functions. I have been doing a lot of work with AWS so I am excited to push myself.
Finally, today as I was explaining how to correctly configure OpenGraph metadata, I plugged my site into the Facebook Sharing debugger and I noticed I had errors. It was a little embarrassing, so I went ahead and got those fixed tonight. I will work those changes into the public Jasper blog repository soon.
Needless to say, I have been a little busy but I am looking forward to whatever October brings.
